Shari I. Lusskin, M.D.

Reproductive Psychiatrist

Reproductive Psychiatry is a specialty that helps women deal with psychiatric conditions that develop in relation to specific points in their reproductive life cycle, such as their menstrual cycle, pregnancy, postpartum, and perimenopause. Women with these neurobiological conditions are often under-diagnosed and under-treated.

Dr. Lusskin is one of the pioneers in this field in the United States and is an internationally-recognized expert in perinatal psychopharmacology. She is also a 3rd generation physician whose father, grandfather, and grandmother were doctors. Following in their footsteps, she is dedicated to the care of her patients and to training clinicians around the world.

Dr. Lusskin is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai which she first joined in 2007. She is an Attending in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She also maintains a private practice in New York City and as a consultant for Lost Empire Herbs.
